What Will It Take?

What Will It Take?
Before we open our eyes to identify what’s going on. Before we realize the problem is US. That we have to blame ourselves for the MARK bestowed upon our race these days, especially our youth.

What Will It Take?
Before you kick up your parenting skills. Allowing Sons and Daughters to leave the house looking like a stereotype. Sons showing more ass in the street than that of a strip club. Walking like a duck because they are more concerned with holding their pants up than letting a belt do its job! Daughters wearing clothes so tight, so revealing, she can’t breathe! All this…in the name of attention!

What Will It Take?
Before you step back, take a breathe and ask…Is this truly alright with me? Do you think if the Big Mamas, the Big Daddys, the old school ways of raising kids were reality today, we’d have the BS we see?

What Will It Take?
Before the sense of entitlement mindset, the extreme disrespect for authority, elders, teachers, and communities to which they live, totally destroys the minds of our youth? Why? Ask yourself because if your values find nothing wrong with this, it’s YOU whom have contributed to the detriment of our people!

What Will It Take?
Before we stop blaming the white man for what we don’t have when you’ve done nothing to get it? Are sitting at home collecting a check off the tax payers when you have all the faculties necessary to put in days work? Blocking resources from those who REALLY need it.

What Will It Take?
Before you stop bitching about what someone else is doing, yet you’ve not cast one vote! A lot to say until it’s time to get involved in being a piece of the puzzle to REAL change.

What Will It Take?
Before you realize, your babysitter is the TV, the iPad, the Galaxy S8, the PS4, the classroom teacher? When is the last time you had conversation with your child? Read a book to them? Taught them how to read? Given them the old fashion multiplication table and showed them how to fill it in?

What Will It Take?
Before you stop being a walking billboard for brands that aren’t thinking about paying one cent? The New J’s…$200 today but can’t pay rent tomorrow. Got the latest fashions but your bank account is so hollow it echos.

What Will It Take?
Before you start working with our own people to build business and communities without being in competition with each other? Support and not destroy or look for the “hook up” because I have the same skin tone as you, but will pay full price everywhere else.

What Will It Take?
For us to stop fighting and killing each other? Instead of destroying your Brother, Build him up and help him walk the right path. Let disagreements be settled peacefully so that we may live to see another day!

What Will It Take?
Young woman, before you stop spreading your legs for someone whom YOU KNOW, is absolutely worthless and only had one thing on his mind…to conquer you!

What Will It Take?
Young men, for you to start being a father to your children? You laid, you sprayed, and now you’re dodging so you don’t have to pay! Smh. STEP UP!!!

What Will It Take?
At some point we MUST say STOP, this is enough!

What Will It Take?
I’ll tell you… To know who we are as a people, as individuals, as members of our communities. Know that we have the knowledge and wisdom BUT have not tapped into it, BUT CAN…BUT WON’T!

Know that we don’t need to be flashy to show what we have. Invest in our communities and business. Understand that this nation was built on the backs of our ancestors and we should never disgrace them by let all their hard work go in vain because we’re being selfish and uncivilized.

Stop feeding fuel to the fire of racism. We know their are minds of some, we will never change due to just complete ignorance BUT you can remove yourself and your resources from the equation.

Discipline our children. Teach them right from wrong. Don’t reward bad behavior. Make them understand they MUST earn what they receive.

Show that we are equals. Gain that knowledge, work hard, be an asset to our families and communities through the building of relationships, removing the poison from our neighborhoods, investing, and building business.

Instill in our youth, they will NOT continue to add to the population of the jail systems. They will be the catalyst to diminishing the percentage of people of color behind bars which is over 60% but make up only 30% of the nations population.

Just a hard working Black man, tired of what I’m seeing in our people when I know we have to the potential be so much more! Far from a racist thing but definitely a open your eyes and ears, and get up off your ass thing! I ask What Will It Take? So you start to think and ask yourself, Am I doing enough? Am I change agent or am I contributing to the madness?

Peace!
