Challenges

Challenges…We face them every day. Why? It’s not because God is punishing you. It’s not because people don’t like or are against you, or you’re doing anything wrong. It’s because it is an element of our growth. If there weren’t anything to challenge our mind, body, and spirit there wouldn’t be scientists, we’d still be crawling, and Faith wouldn’t exist.

The key to challenges are how you deal with them and what you learn from them. Both actions help shape and mold us into who we are.

Some of us are Go-getters meaning we look forward to the next challenge. Ready to build upon what we’ve learned. Willing to pay it forward so the next person doesn’t have to re-invent the wheel. Genuinely love to see people succeed because it lets us know IT can be achieved. The benefit…it feeds into our vision of success and motivation.

Some of us are Procrastinators meaning the challenge has presented itself but they fall into a slot of low priority. This leads to traits of disregarding the precious gift of Time to complete laziness. This spectrum is far too wide to elaborate upon but you get the picture.

Then there is the Sense of Entitlement mode where challenges are totally disregarded. This Mindset births individuals who feel there’s no need to think about anything further than 2 steps in front of them. How they can make the next quick dollar. Holding down a job is foreign language and as long as they can live by way of the contributions (voluntarily or forcibly) of others, the mentality is ‘Why do anything else?”. Clueless to the fact they may be causing undue stress on the individuals from whom they constantly receive. Someone mentions “Contribute”, their response “What’s that?”

There is good news though! There is this thing called CHANGE which allows anyone to shift gears and follow some simple steps as a base:

  1. The first step is to change their Mindset. Strive to want a better life for themselves and those around.
  2. Become an asset to their family, friends, and community.
  3. Work and learn from their peers instead of being in constant competition. There are times to be competitive BUT more importantly there should always be time to help and work together because that’s where the REAL Growth happens.

Ask yourself, are those steps a Challenge for me? If you answered Yes, it may be time to Re-examine a few things about yourself. If you answered No, what will be your next steps?

I was sitting in Wendy’s having lunch and the Lord put the word Challenges in my head and I began to write. The result above. Sometimes He will send something your way to reach someone else where it resonates and ignites a desire to take action.

Being obedient and humbled as He uses me.

God is Good.
